The front teeth are meant for biting or cutting the food. they are called incisors. there are total numbers of 8 incisors,4 in each jaw.next to the incisors are pointed teeth called canines. there are 4 canines,2 in each jaw adjacent to the incisors on both sides. the canines are used for tearing the food. close to the canines, on the inside are flattened teeth called premolars. there are 8 premolars, each jaw on the side of the canines.there are 6 innermost teeth in each jaw called molars. the 12 molars and 8 premolars are used for grinding the food.
