The Industrial Revolution of Germany. The Industrial Revolution began about a century later in Germany than it did in England. Germany did not exist as a political unit until the latter part of the nineteenth century.
As in Britain, industrialization in France began in the textile industry. It then spread to heavy industry, especially iron, which became the dominant industrial sector by the mid-19th century.
