INERTIA :

Galileo was the first inventor of Inertia who gave an idea about it and later Newton developed law based on Inertia

NEWTON'S FIRST LAW :

The natural tendency of an object to resist the change in the state of rest or state of uniform motion is termed as "Inertia"

Inertia is of three types namely , inertia of rest , inertia of motion and inertia of direction

Inertia of rest helps not to change the state of rest of an object , inertia of motion helps not to change the state of motion of an object and inertia of direction helps not to change the direction of an object while moving on a certain path with uniform motion

Inertia depends on the mass of the body

If the object has more mass then , it has more intertia

For example , a cricket ball has more inertia than a rubber ball which is in same size of the cricket ball because cricket ball has more mass than the rubber ball and inertia doesn't depend on size of the object

NOTE :

Mass is a measure of the inertia of a body

S.I unit of mass is kg i.e. Kilogram

C.G.S unit of mass is g i.e. gram

Units of mass and inertia are same
