ABOUT JHARKHAND'S WILDLIFE AND VEGETATION:

Jharkhand, which literally means 'the territory of forests', is known for its dense evergreen forests and wildlife. In fact, the state of Jharkhand is known to possess the richest evergreen forests in India. Statistics prove that about 200 species of fauna is found in the territory of Jharkhand. More than one-fourth of Jharkhand's land area is forested. Most forests occur on the Chota Nagpur plateau; those on the plain largely have been cleared to allow cultivation of the land. The natural vegetation is deciduous forest; Chota Nagpur is rich in sal (Shorea robusta), a valuable hardwood.

ABOUT GOA'S WILDLIFE AND VEGETATION:

You find leopards, monkeys, deer, leopard cat, Indian civet, the gaur or Indian bison, the sloth bear, the Indian porcupine, the pangolin, the slender loris, the wild boar and the mongoose. Monkeys are found all across Goa . The most common species is the pink-bottomed macaque followed by the Hanuman langur. Goa has more than 33% of its geographic area under government forests (1224.38 km²) of which about 62% has been brought under Protected Areas (PA) of Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Park.Coconut trees are ubiquitous and are present in almost all areas of Goa barring the elevated regions. Much deciduous vegetation, including teak, sal, cashew and mango trees, is present. Fruits include jackfruits, mangos, pineapples and blackberries. Foxes, wild boars and migratory birds are found in the jungles of Goa.

Explanation:

Wild life of Jharkhand :

The Chhotanagpur Plateau Province of the Deccan Peninsula Biogeographic Zone, which includes Jharkhand, has a particularly rich biodiversity. 2.36 million hectares of recorded forest land make up 29.61% of the state's total land area. Legally speaking, Reserve Forests make up 18.59% of all forested land, Protected Forests 81.27%, and Unclassed Forests make up just 0.14%. There are three different types of forests: tropical moist deciduous, tropical dry deciduous, and subtropical broadleaved hill forests. Sal (Shorea Robusta) is the main species of forest tree in all three types of forests. The forest resources of the Chhotanagpur Plateau are abundant. Additionally, the state has a lot of animal resources.

Natural vegetation of Jharkhand :

Animals and plants

Over one-fourth of Jharkhand's land area is covered in forests. The Chota Nagpur plateau is home to the majority of the woods, while those in the plain have largely been destroyed to make way for agriculture. The area's native vegetation is a deciduous forest, and Chota Nagpur is well-known for its sal (Shorea Robusta), a priceless hardwood.

Natural vegetation of Goa :

The vegetation is mostly made up of species of Calotropis, Ziziphus, Cassia, Ixora, Acacia, Albizia, Terminalia, and Crotalaria, as well as Haplorrhine pubescents, Lantana camara, Calypters floribunda, Woodfordia fruticose, Grewia acutifoliate, and Vitex negundo.

Wildlife of Goa :

In the Goa jungles, you can find foxes, wild boars, and migrating birds. Kingfishers, mynas, and parrots are among the members of the avifauna. Off the coast of Goa and in its rivers, numerous fish species are also captured. A few of the fish caught in the ocean are crabs, lobsters, shrimp, jellyfish, oysters, and catfish.
