Actually, the kinetic theory explains the concept along with physical differences between all the three states of matter accurately. Now, the kinetic theory of matter stated the following postulates furthermore :

☑ Matter consists of molecules which are the smallest particles of a matter made up of two or more atoms.

☑ Molecules of matter are always in rapid (random) motion. These molecules move rapidly in all possible directions and with all possible velocities. However, this motion of molecules is also known as BROWNIAN MOTION.

☑ The molecules attract one another with a force (inter-molecular force) which decreases as the distance between them increases.

☑ Molecules of a given substance are alike but they differ from the molecules of other substances.

☑ The kinetic energy of molecules depends on temperature. Molecular motion increases as temperature rises.

Note : The picture which is illustrated above shows the general two kinds of inter-molecular forces (Cohesive and Adhesive Force) with their concept (i.e., definition)

kinetic molecular theory of matter states that: Matter is made up of particles that are constantly moving. ... There are spaces between particles of matter. The average amount of empty space between molecules gets progressively larger as a sample of matter moves from the solid to the liquid and gas phases.
