• Anglo-mysore wars were a series of four wars between British and kingdom of Mysore.
• First war was between Hyder Ali and british , it lead to the treaty of Madras that brought an end to the war.
• Second war was between Marathas and british, , Hyder Ali forged an alliance with the Nizam and Maratha and defeated British.

• It lead to the treaty of Mangalore.

• Third war was with Tipu Sultan, this ended the treaty of Seringapatam, he had to surrender two of his sons as surety to British Till he paid the indemnity to British.
• In Fourth war  treaty entered into a subsidiary alliance with British and a British resident was placed at the Mysore court.
