Mahatma Gandhi has given his scheme of Nai Talim (New Education) in a well formulated approach to education in 1937 in his news paper 'Harijan'.

However, the basic principles of Nai Talim are: * From seven to fourteen years of age, education of each child should be free, compulsory and universal. It is limited to primary and junior stages only. * The medium of instruction should be mother-tongue. * Mere literacy cannot be equated with education.

Answer:

The phrase Nai Talim is a combination of two words- Nai Means 'New' and Talim – a Urdu word-means 'Education'. In 1937, Gandhiji introduced the concept of Nai Talim in India. He believed the importance of role of teacher in the learning process. ... In other words, it insists on learning by doing.
