As these magazines were cheap and attractive , even poor people could afford it.

He also wrote the book HARD TIMES . This novel describes a town named coketown , a fictitious industrial town , a grim place full of machinery , smoking chimneys and polluted rivers

Here the workers were known as hands.

He wrote the book OLIVER TWIST. It was a story about a small boy who lived in the world of petty criminals .

He was bought up in a cruel workhouse . Finally he is adopted by a wealthy man and lives happy ever after.
