The parts of human eye

( i ) Eyeball

It is approximately spherical . Its diameter | is 2 . 3 cm .

( ii ) Cornea

It is made of transparent substance and it is bulging outwards . The light coming from object enters through it .

( iii ) Iris

It is the opaque sCTeen behind the Cornea : It has a small aperture at its centre . Generally , the iris is black in Colour , It partially covers the front part of the lens .

( iv ) Pupil

It is a hole in middle of iris . It appears black and controls intensity of light .

( v ) Eyelens

It is made of transparent and flexible material like jelly made by proteins . It is fixed by ciliary muscles .

( vi ) Ciliary Muscles

The eye lens is held in position by ciliary muscles . Focal length is changed by the action of ciliary muscles .

( vii ) Retina

The Screen on which the image is formed in the eye is called retina . It is situated behind the lens at the back part of eye . The retina is delicate membrane having large number of light sensitive Cell called rod and cones which respond to the intensity of light and colour of objects respectively by generating electrical signals .

( viii ) Eyelid

It is situated in front of eye which is just | like a shutter ,

( ix ) Acquous Humour

It is a visCous liquid filled between cornea and lens which protects the eye with shocks etc .

( x ) Vitreous Humour

It is a liquid filled between eve lens and retina .

CORENA:-

The corena is the outermost layer of eyeand primarly responsible for focusing the light that comes into our eyes.There are the 5 layers of corena.

PUPIL:-

The pupil is the black circle in the center of the eye ,and its primary function is to monitor the amount of light that comes into the eye.

IRIS:-

The iris is the coloured part of the eye. Although it might seem purely cosmetic,the iris actually functions to adjust the size of pupil.
