Answer: Respiration is the process of the breaking down of food inside our body. It also includes the breathing process meaning the inhalation and exhalation of air into and out of the body.

Respiration is very important for every living organism to sustain or stay alive in this environment.

So, the answer according to the question would be as follows:-

So, the first step of the passage of air or the pathway of air in the respiratory system will start from the nostrils present in the nose.

After entering the nostrils inside the nose the air will starts its journey inside the body it will further move into the nasal cavity known as the nasal passage, after that it will again move to the pharynx present inside the body, after that it will enter into the larynx and passing through the larynx, the air will pass into the trachea, which is also called as the wind pipe . In the trachea there are the Rings of catalyst and the Rings of cartilage further combines with the bronchus and the bronchus is the singular from of bronchi. Now the bronchi that is divided into 2 bronchus further is combined with the two parts of the lungs inside the body. After that inside the lungs the bronchus is divided into the alveoli. Alveoli are the respiratory pigments where the exchange of the gases takes place. In the alveoli the Co2 is replaced by oxygen. Now the oxygen is passed into every part of the body and the Co2 from every part of the body is excreted from the body, as it is a toxic substance.

Further in the alveoli the exchange of gases takes place. As the Co2 is a harmful substance that is excreted from the body.
