Photosynthesis is the process in which plants make their food using air, water, sunlight etc.

Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is theprocess by which plants, some bacteria and some protistans use the energy from sunlight to produce glucose from carbon dioxide and water. This glucose can be converted into pyruvate which releases adenosine triphosphate (ATP) by cellular respiration. Oxygen is also formed.

Answer: The process by which green plants make their own food from carbon dioxide and water using sunlight energy in the presence of chlorophyll is called photosynthesis.

Explanation: The carbon dioxide required for making food is taken by the plant leaves from the atmosphere. This carbon dioxide enters the leaves through tiny spores present in them called stomata. Water required for making food is taken from the soil and transported to the leaves through stems and roots. Sunlight provides energy. Chlorophyll helps in absorbing the sunlight. Oxygen gas is produced as a by-product.
