Write about plaster of paric. How is it produced? State the common and chemical name of the compound formed when plaster of paric is mixed with water

On heating Gypsum at 373K \, it loses water molecules and becomes calcium sulphate hemihydrate (CaSO4.1/2H2O). This is called Plaster of Paris.

CaSO4.1/2H2O + 1 1/2 H2O  →  CaSO4.2H2O

This compound is called Gypsum.
