In Ranjit Singh's childhood, he was infected by a viral disease called smallpox which took his left eye sight and left him with scarred face.
He was very short in height. He was uneducated and cannot able to understand or figure out anything academically except Gurmukhi letters.
In order to make him as a valuable person he was given training is events such as in horse riding, musketry and other military expressions in his house itself.
