➡️Red soil are mainly formed due to the decomposition of ancient crystalline rocks like granite and gneiss and from rocks types rich in minerals such as iron and magnesium.
➡️The term red soil is due to the whide diffusion of iron oxides through the materials of the soil.
➡️They cover almost the whole of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, parts of Orissa, Jharkhand etc.
➡️Red soil is suitable for rice ,millets ,tobacco and vegetables.
