North indian rivers originate in Himalayan mountains covered with glaciers. These rivers are perennial in nature because they get water from the glaciers and rainfall. These rivers also form deep gorges and V shaped valleys in mountainous areas. North Indian rivers are Indus and its tributaries Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas, Sutlej. The Ganga and its tributaries mainly Yamuna, Gharghara, Gandak, Ram Ganga, Ramganga, Kosi, Mahananda, Chambal. The Brahmaputra and its tributaries like Manas, Subarnasri, Tista, etc.
