Striated muscles occur mainly in association with bones (skeletal system) and in relation to the body wall. The fibres of these muscles show prominent transverse striations and normally made to contract according our will under the conscious control of nervous system. It occur in the limbs, body wall, face, neck etc. It is cylindrical shape of muscle. It is multinucleated muscle fibres. Nuclei are peripheral. Myofibrils show alternate light and dark bands. Fibres are unbranched. Intercalated discs are absent. They soon get fatigued. It is voluntary in action.
