Swami vivekanand was a bengali born on 12 january 1863 -4 july 1902. His real name was Narendranath Datta was an indian Monk . He was a key figuer in the introduction oof the indian philosphies of Vedanta and Yoga to the western world and is credited wirlth raising interfaith awareness bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19 century. He was a major forcein the revival of Hinduism in india and contributed to the concept of nationalism in colonial India. He founded the Ramakrishna Math and Ramskrishna Mission. He is best knon for his speeches.
At the age of 8 he enrolled at Ishwar chandra vidyasagar institution where he went to school until his family moved to Raipur in 1877. After they moved to Calcutta he was the only student to passed with first division marks . He was a avid reader in a wide range of subjects including philosphy, religion , social science and Vedas.
He later went to Unites States representing India at rhe Parliament of the World Religion. In India Vivekanand is regarded as a patriotic saint and his birthday is celebrated there as National Youth Day.
