when u keep iron nearby magnet to magnetic force will be reflected to you well and how we see activity about magnetic force. pour a bit of vegetable oil into a shallow dish , just enough to make a thin-film across to bottom.... removing the magnetic field will allow the ferrofluid to flow like a liquid again
