Attitudes are formed in a person or in a community based on years of experience of the socio-linguistic cultures and psychological factors.

The attitude of a community towards a particular language is often described by their actions and behavior towards the people who speak that language. For example, usually, a particular community of people may avoid talking or approaching another community of people who speak a different language to either not learn their language or to make them feel uncomfortable in a different-language zone.

When the communities work towards a convergence of 2 different language speeches, it is called as 'positive attitude', whereas the divergence from conforming it is called as 'negative attitude'.

Language planning and its strategical approaches are difficult to manipulate. Language attitude and behavior are known to provide crucial insights in relation to Maintenance of a language, acquisition of a second language, and its achievement.

Every community has a relationship with their local language and how it is developed over the years.

Language is a key part of someone's history and culture and provides the biggest bond between various members of a community.

In most cases, communities are very emotional about their language and how it should be preserved for the coming generations.

Examples can be found all over India where numerous local languages still thrive to this day despite hundreds of dialects and the obvious dominance of English
