The Indian government passed an Indian wildlife act in 1972 to protect plants and animals species.

The act banned hunting and poaching of animals and provided a protection to their habitats.

The central and state governments have eatablished many wildlife sancturies in order to protect the forests and endangered animals species.

These acts passed by government helped a lot to those animal species which in a way to become extinct like- white tiger ,one horned rhino dodo bird and many more.
