Punjabi dialects and languages are a series of dialects and languages spoken in the Punjab region of Pakistan and India with varying degrees of official recognition and sometimes referred to as Greater Punjabi.[1]

According to Rahman(1994), Rensch introduced the concept of 'Greater Punjabi' which is the sum total of all dialects, such as Potohari, Pahari, Hindko, Siraiki, and Punjabi.[2] According to Singha (2007), the Punjabi University Atlas published by the Punjabi University (India) recognises 28 varieties of Punjabi including Chambeali, Mandeali, Kullui, Rathi, Bhatiani, Poonchi and Wazirabadi.[3]
Punjabi is the official language in Punjab, India, Saraiki and Hindko are classified as separate languages in Pakistan and Dogri is one of the official languages of Jammu, India.
