• Must be citizen of India
• Age should not be less than 25
• Must be a voter for parliamentary constituency.

Ability for Rajya Sabha-

• Not to be a proclaimed criminal
• Age should not be less than 30
• Be elected by the Legislative Assembly of States and Union territories by means of single transferable vote through proportional representation.
