i)Epidermis is the outermost layer of cells.
Epidermis is thicker in desert plants to prevent transpiration.
It protects alll parts of the plants.
ii)Cork is light weight and does not catch fire easily, due to these properties it is used in making insulators, shock absorbers and sports goods. They protect the plant from harmful microbes.
iii)The two main functions of stomata are to allow for the uptake of carbon dioxide and to limit the loss of water due to evaporation. In many plants, stomata remain open during the day and closed at night. Stomata are open during the day because this is when photosynthesis typically occurs.
