Increase in atmospheric concentration of green house gases, has resulted in the heating of Earth or rise in the temperature. During past century, the temperature of the Earth has increased by 0.60C, most of it during last three decades.

This rise in temperature leads to unfavourable changes in environment and resulting in odd climatic changes.(eg; EI Nino effect). EI Nino effect results in melting of polar ice caps and Himalayan snow caps which may be the cause for submerging of the coastal areas.

Global warming can be controlled by reducing use of fossil fuel, improving efficiency of energy usage, reducing deforestation, planting trees and checking of human population growth.
