Luigi Galvani was doing and experiment to prove that there was no form of electricity in an animal tissue and unknowingly the materials he used when they touched a frog he used for the experiment created and electrical current making the muscle of the frog to move and he thought he had brought the frog to life. At the hearing of this news Alessandro Volta wanted to test this out when he tried the exact same experiment. He discovered that the water from the frog and the metals in the materials used carried an electrical current that made the muscle in the frog move. So using those metals and liquids ( acid, lead, nickel, lithium, cadmium, alkaline, mercury, and nickel metal hydride, water, and sulfuric acid) he made the battery.
