                                             Human Ear

⇒ Ears are pair of statoacoustic organs meant for both balancing and hearing.

⇒ It consists of three parts

1. External ear
2. Middle ear
3. Internal ear.

• External ear

⇒ It consists of ear lobe or pinna and an external auditory canal.

⇒ It collects and directs sound waves into the external auditory canal.

• Middle ear

⇒ Middle ear have three small bones, called ear or auditory ossicles.

⇒ These are hammer shaped malleus, anvil shaped incus and stirrupt like shapes.

• Internal ear

⇒ It consists of a bony labyrinth and a membranous labyrinth.

⇒ The bony labyrinth has three bony semicircular canals, a bony cavity called vestibule and a coiled bony tube called cochlea and is filled with perilymph.
