Write about the mechanism of photosynthesis

The process by which green plants make their food in the presence of sunlight, chlorophyll and water is known as photosynthesis. Chlorophyll the green coloured pigment present in plants is responsible for performing photosynthesis because it has ability to absorb sunlight and convert it into food.

first takes place the absorption of sunlight which is done by the chloroplasts . this sunlight is then used to break the water (which is absorbed by the soil) into its constituents hydrogen and oxygen .this oxygen comes out as a bi product and the hydrogen reacts with the carbon dioxide to form glucose ie C6H12O6 .

PHOTOSYNTHESIS INVOLVES CONVERSION OF LIGHT ENERGY INTO CHEMICAL ENERGY .
