Northern plains :- The northern plain of India is formed by three river systems, i.e. the Indus, the Ganga and the Brahmaputra; along with their tributaries. The northern plains are the largest alluvial tract of the world. These plains extend approximately 3200 km from west to east.

Deccan plateau :- The Deccan Plateau is a large plateau in western and southern India. It rises to 100 metres (330 ft) in the north, and to more than 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) in the south, forming a raised triangle within the south-pointing triangle of the Indian coastline.
