\huge\pink{Hello}

India has two river chains:-

i) Himalayan rivers

ii) Peninsular rivers

Our northern plain gets water from three river systems.

The Ganga River System

The Brahmputra River System

The Indus River System

  • These are perennial rivers.
  • They have larger coarses.
  • These rivers form delta where the meet the sea.

Peninsular Rivers

Major rivers are:-

Godavari river

Mahanadi river

Krishna river

Kaveri river

Narmada river

& Tapi river

  • These are seasonal rivers.
  • They have comparatively lower coarses.
  • They also form delta but Narmada amd Tapi form estuaries when they meet the sea.
