Types of Cell Division: Binary Fission, Mitosis & Meiosis
Cells are the most fundamental units of life. All living organisms are made of one or more. Cells reproduce by copying their genetic material and then dividing—a parent cell giving rise to daughter cells.

The reproduction of prokaryotic cells  is accomplished through binary fission.
Binary fission is essentially cloning. Barring mutations that may have occurred when the genetic material was copied (a process called replication), the two resulting daughter cells are identical to the parent cell.

Mitosis is division of the somatic cells of eukaryotic organisms. Somatic cells are all cells of the body, other than the reproductive cells of sexually reproducing organisms—sperm and egg.Mitosis is how single celled eukaryotic organisms reproduce, and how multi-cellular eukaryotes develop, grow, and repair.

Meiosis is the type of cell division that produces gametes, sperm or eggs, in sexually reproducing organisms. Meiosis reduces the number of chromosome by half, so that when a sperm fertilizes an egg, the resulting zygote has a full set of chromosomes.

Heya,

Meiosis is a type of cell division in which new cells will have half the  number of chromosomes from the usual one.

Cell division is generally of 2 types:-
1. Mitosis and
2. Meiosis

Meiosis is often known as reduction division. Mostly all eukaryotes reproduce sexually using meiosis.
Meiosis occurs in sex organs which are testes in males and ovaries in females. Meiosis produces our sex cells or gametes. In fact, Meiosis is a specialized form of cell division that produces reproductive cells, such as plant and fungal spores, sperm and egg cells.Their are tow times the cell divides;-

1.Meiosis I
2. Meiosis II.

Mitosis is a process in which chromosomes are separated into  two nuclei. It is the division of nucleus. Mitosis consists of following stages:-
 prophase,

prometaphase
metaphase
anaphase, and
telophase
It occurs mostly in eukaryotic cells which has well differentiated nucleus. Mitosis is  different for different organisms. Some organisms undergo closed mitosis while some undergo open mitosis.

Prokaryotic cells which lacks proper nucleus and nuclear membrane reproduces by binary fission. It is an asexual reproduction mostly found in prokaryotes. It also occurs in unicellular organisms like amoeba and paramecium.

Hope it helps u....
