Wildlife of India. India boasts a variety of species and organisms. ... It is home to Bengal and Indochinese tigers, Asiatic Lions, Leopards, Snow Leopards, Clouded Leopards, various species of Deer, including Chital, Hangul, Barasingha; the Indian Elephant, the Great Indian Rhinoceros, and many more amongst others.

in our India several steps are being taken by the government to preserve the wildlife .some of these are :-
1) hunting of wild animals and birds has been banned .
2) poachers and Hunter are panalized.
3) national parks and wildlife sanctuaries are be set up in different parts of the india.
4) Project Tiger - a wildlife conservation project was launched in 1973 in Corbett National Park it is the most successful conservation venture that aims at Tiger conservation and specially constituted Tiger reserves throughout India .
