Holi
-It is said to be the festival of colours and hoy and it shows the victory of good over evil.
-Holi is an Hindu festival though its is being celebrated all over many place in the world by many religions.
-It brings different cultures and religions under the same bond which further helps in unification and spreading the message of brotherhood.
-It stats in the month of March and is celebrated with full enthusiasm.
-It can be also called Spring festival as it starts in the season of spring.
Dhulandi
+Actually it is a part of Holi celebration which is also known as Rangwali Holi.
+This is the second day of Holi celebration which marks the starting of Playing with colours.
+On this day, people throw colors on one another.
-The reason behind celebrating Holi it marks the victory of good over evil.
-According to Indian history,the son of Hiranyakashyap named Prahald was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu.
But Hiranyakashyap was like a demon and didn't believed in Gods.He don't allowed his son to worship Vishnu as he himself though to be a god.But Prahlad never listened to his father and one day Hiranyakashyap thought of a plan to kill his son by fire.
So he asked his sister Holika to help him in accomplishing this.They planned to burn Prahald to death. Holika had a power which helped her in protecting her from fire.
So in this way they would kill Prahald.They did the same as planned ,Prahald and Holika were asked to sit inside fire.
But Prahald had the blessing of Lord Vishnu on him and nothing happened to him but Holika was burned to death in the fire.This marked the Victory and good and destroyed the evils.

i)Maharashtra
- In this state Holi is celebrated in an very unique way.Holika is first burned in fire and then the festival is started and on last day the people gives offering like sweets and other delicious food to God.
ii)Uttar Pradesh
-In UP Holi is also known as Lathmar Holi.
-This is quite fascinating and Unique also.
-On this days women takes Lathis on their hands and beat men with it.Is for protection, men takes a Shield on their hand.
-Now in my region Holi is not only seen as an festival but also an ideal event for unification of the all the people.On this day each and every people,whether he/she are enemies ,plays Holi with colours to celebrate and feel its importance.
All of us in evening organise a big feast for all people,whether he/she is of the colony or of other colony,all are welcomed for enjoying the feast with joy.
