$ Meaning of Introspection
Introspection is the process where one examines his or her own emotions, feelings, thoughts, memories (good and bad) mainly the mental state of oneself. This is introspection. It is simply self-reflection, viewing your own mental state by yourself. This helps you to get closer to yourself. Sometimes we are introspective without knowing it.

When I introspected myself, I was lost in thoughts just as almost a minute passes away. It gives you a feeling that you are in a separate world, where everything is constituted up of your own memories, emotions, and thoughts etc. That world is basically your brain. It brought out my behaviors towards others, the good and bad values that I exhibit, and few memories which were imprinted in my heart and that were associated with the behavior I had shown to people. In conclusion, you get lost in a galaxy of thoughts.

In a positive way, It will develop my emotions at the first place. Then, how I react to situations, my behaviour towards people. It will develop my habits, relationships with my parents and friends. I will help me know more about my self and important things that I ignore. In a negative way, for example if I have few depressing memories in the future, when I introspect, I'll feel pretty off the track, be upset and moody for few days, which will affect my feelings and emotions. It will develop my habits, relationships with my parents and friends. I will help me know more about my self

$ Merits and Demerits of Introspection
Everything has its Pro's and Con's. So does Introspection.
Merits
There is no requirement of any device for Introspections. It's only the person and the examiner. Helps us to understand ourselves in a good way and realize our emotions and reactions, and through this, we can know when and how to react if we have introspected our past reactions to situations. It's easy, simple and straightforward to do. It also helps us to relax, and enjoy time for most of the part and specially develops the personality of oneself.
Demerits
There are a good number of limitations to who can introspect. Children, differently abled persons, mentally affected people will not be able to introspect. Sometimes when overly depressed people introspect, it leads to more depression their lives. Sometimes, most of us aren't ready to accept our faults and drawbacks, so when we introspect, a true inner self isn't reflected, its fake. When we introspect, we do two activities, we think and we observe. When we do so, the experiences get distorted. Next, for example when a person visits a doctor, and he is asked to introspect and give views on his thoughts, the doctor cannot verify whether its true or not, a proper treatment cannot be given.

$ Do you think this should be applied in your life?
Sometimes. It's is really beneficial, but I won't do it regularly. Its supposed to be taken as a relaxing activity instead of an activity that would be done in a routine. I would do it when I have time for myself, when I want to recall past memories, and know more about me. When I tried it, I didn't have track of time, I was into it and thinking about the valuable and remarkable memories I had was the best experience. Its more cool to cherish those memories than realizing your emotions. It helps you have *quality* time where everything feels like yours. Not trying to say realizing emotions is not important, it is for 100% . There is always room for improvement, Introspection is helpful in improving the personality as well as behavior towards other. So I will try it for sure.
