Hey! @PoojaBBSR here... thanks for asking such a wonderful questions
Well, here goes your answer....
1. Meaning: Introspection means examination of one's (own) thoughts and feelings... But everything, be it good or bad, has some merits and demerits too about which we'll talk later....
2. What happened to you after you introspected yourself for 5 mins : Well, to be honest, I experienced many things in my life because I had been introspecting myself for over years.... Maybe I became so introspective that it made me an introvert, in reality..
And so, I grew up in complete isolation. No one really cared what I did most of the time and my parents, especially ignored like anything! When there was something important, say to buy new color materials for our maths project, they would say - ''Don't disturb me! Don't you see I'm having some important work?! Do it with whatever you have... " And this kept going on as a regular routine. May be for this reason, I started feeling lonely, felt alone and isolated. Even in school, I remained alone as I was too shy & some what afraid to make friends. Moreover by being introverted, I became a victim of constant bullying and teasing...
But, I'm glad that I came out of that phrase because one of my teachers, who noticed this and soon warned my parents... Afraid, my mom left her job to take proper care of mine and rather took up a part time job...
4. State its merits and demerits
Merits :
1:gives you a chance to know whether you had done something wrong previously
2:makes you think before you take any step
3:(if you focus and use it only for your improvement) build a good personality
Demerits
1:can make you feel introverted
2:it can make you so engrossed in your thoughts that it may make you stressed, depressed
3:in some people it may increase their anxiety
4:you feel demotivated when you recall/introspect some bad moments of your life
5. Should we/you apply it to our real life ? : No, not necessarily... and that too, not for everyone. Sometimes you get benefits but I won't do it in a regular basis.. But still, if you wanna apply it in your life, here's my tip - 'If something is not right internally you need to speak up, go inward and share the feelings by asking for help, so that you don’t end up messing your valuable life for nothing'.... Explore yourself, Question yourself, focus more on your present and forgive yourself for your mistakes in the past. Be happy for what you have and try to utilize it to your full potential to innovate and create something meaningful and wonderful.
Thanks... !
