JOHN SHAKESPEARE WAS A FARMER'S SON WHO CAME TO STRATFORD IN 1531 AND PTOSPERED AS A TRADER OF CORN.MARY ARDEN WAS A DAUGHTER OF PROSPEROUS FARMER FROM THE FAMILY OF THE ANGLO-SAXON AND A NORMAN BLOOD.
