Activity:-

Take a tin container and fill it half with water. place the container on burner without lid and light the burner. let the water boil for some time . As steam starts coming out of the container ,stop heating and close the lid of the container. Remove the container from the burner carefully. Pour the cool water over the container.

You will observe that the container gets deformed. This happened because air pressure inside the container was less than atmospheric pressure outside the container, thereby deforming it .

This shows that air exerts pressure.
