All the possible products formed on the pyrolysis of butane are as followed:

1) CH4

2) C3H6

3) C2H6

4) C2H4

5) CH3

6) C2H5

7) C3H7

CH3, C2H5 and C3H7 are free radicals which are formed by the pyrolysis of butane by a free radical chain reaction.

CH3 stands for Methyl radical.

C2H5 stands for Ethyl radical.

C3H7 stands for Isopropyl or propyl radical.

CH4 or methane, C3H6 or also called as propene or propylene, C2H6 or ethane, C2H4 or Ethylene. These are the products formed when butane undergoes primary decomposition reaction. These products can be easily formed without undergoing a secondary reaction.
