Digits given = 3

i.e. 3 , 1  , 8

as it is given in the question that one digit can only be used once ,

therefore

We can use Permutation here or fundamental principle of counting

As it will form a three digit number , then

In Hundred's place we can use any one of the 3 digits

In Ten's place we can use any one of the 2 digits

and In Unit's place we can only use  1 digit

Hence , Total numbers formed = 3 × 2 × 1

= 6

Also , the numbers are

138 , 183 , 318 , 381 , 813 , 831.
