Sand can be separated out from the mixture by sedimentation and then filtration.

The difference in boiling points of kerosene and petrol is more than 25 degree Celsius , they can be separated by simple distillation . Petrol with lower boiling point will distil out first leaving the kerosene with higher boiling point behind.
