• Heat is evolved during reaction .
• Quicklime is get converted into slaked lime.
• Reaction :

CaO (s) + H2O (l) -------> Ca(OH)2(aq)

Ca(OH)2+CO2=CaCO3(Milky appearence)

CaCO3+excessive CO2=Ca(HCO3)2{Disappear milky appearance}
