Answer:

Amoeba reproduces by binary fission but in certain unfavorable situations, it reproduce by multiple fission.

During such situations, amoeba develops a hard protective covering called cyst. Inside the cyst, the nucleus divides repeatedly to form many nuclei. This process results in the formation of many daughter cells.

When the condition becomes favourable, the cyst bursts open releasing these daughter cells.

EXPLANATION

  • Amoeba reproduces in favorable conditions by asexual mode of reproduction known as binary fission.
  • Binary fission can be defined as mode of reproduction in which amoeba grows larger in size followed by division of nucleus. The division of cytoplasm happens at the end giving rise to two similar daughter ameoba.
  • Ameoba reproduces by multiple fission under unfavorable conditions.
  • During unfvorable conditions the pseudopodia of ameoba is widthdraws itself and gives ameoba a round shape.
  • Ameoba secrets a hard and protective cyst like covering around itself.
  • The nucleus undergoes multiple divion to form numerous nuclei. Cytoplasmic divison is followed by nuclesr division.
  • On the appereance of favorable conditions the cyst brust to release its daughter cells in the environment.
