Anatomical Position and Structure.

The cerebrum is located within the bony cranium. It extends from the frontal bone anteriorly to the occipital bone posteriorly. Within the skull, the cerebrum fills the anterior and middle cranial fossae, and is located above the tentorium cerebelli inferoposteriorly.

Function

The cerebrum (front of brain) is composed of the right and left hemispheres, which are joined by the corpus callosum. Functions of the cerebrum include: initiation of movement, coordination of movement, temperature, touch, vision, hearing, judgment, reasoning, problem solving, emotions, and learning.
