A fraction is a part of whole number which is mainly represented in x/y format.

To demonstrate the concept of fraction,we can do the below mentioned activity;

1)First take a long piece of bread.

2) Now cut that bread into 5 equal pieces.

3) Then call someone and give that person 2 pieces of bread.

Now, that person has 2 pieces of bread from a total of 5 pieces of bread.

So the fractional value in x/y format will be 2/5.
