a)the smell of hot food reaches us very easily as the particles of the food is hot they easily diffuses within the intermolecular spaces of air(gas).
b)whereas we hardly get the smell of cold food from a distance a little far away from the food. as the food particles are cold they take a lot of time to properly diffuse into the intermolecular spaces of gas.
