Paragraph is the most basic unit of writing. If you can write a paragraph, you can write any longer composition. Articles, letters, stories, reports, essays, etc. are all made up of paragraphs. All paragraphs are made up of a TOPIC SENTENCE, SUPPORTING SENTENCES, and a CLOSING SENTENCE. The TOPIC SENTENCE is the first sentence of the paragraph. SUPPORTING SENTNECES give details and provide information about the TOPIC SENTENCE. CLOSING SENTENCE closes the paragraph with either by stating personal opinion or decision or restates the topic sentence from a different point of view.
As far as an activity to arrange sentences logically is concerned, any day to day activity can be given. For example the student can be asked to write a paragraph on their Classroom, Playground, Teacher, School Building, Favourite Book, etc. The stress should be given on starting the paragraph with TOPIC SENTENCE, followed by SUPPORTING SENTENCES, and concluded by CLOSING SENTENCE. The most important thing to be kept in mind is that a paragraph must be about a single idea. There should not be ideas in the paragraph.
