Explanation:

Mostly aspiring doctors start either with an aim to make money or to serve the community. They can have both. Just the priorities need to be set right. There is no harm in making money but being consistent with what you do is most important.

Ask yourself why you wanna be a doctor?

If it's bcoz of money check the financial day & published stats of doctors in your country. It may surprise you.

Speak to an unbiased physician personally about the experiences.

Speak to a medical student for an unbiased opinion.

If given an opportunity do some community service at hospitals or even community clinics NOT PRIVATE hospitals. This will give you an Idea. of life of a Dr.

Have a long term plan.

Decide if you want to do a post-graduation residency/specialization or not?

Check the financial stability of yourself and your family or whoever is supporting you?

If in the USA are you going to take student loans for study? How are you planning to repay?

Be realistic in setting your expectations from yourself.

Sometimes being a general practitioner is better than being a specialist. It depends upon the demographics and other factors including family support too.

Do you like teaching? It may not be financially rewarding but may be very satisfying.

Stay out of trouble. Do not attempt heroic maneuvers that aren't proven or are experimental.

Protect your license more than anything in this world. If you lose that all the years of hard work can go down the drain.

Do not compare yourself with other peers. Your time will come too.

Just keep doing the right things.
