In Gitanjali, Rabindranath Tagore offers his prayer to God. It is actually collection of devotional songs. Its religiousness, simple manner, optimistic view attract people's attention. Images, symbols and free verse are also used here.
But there are some drawbacks like its structure is not logical, its beginning is with adoration of god and ends with repentance and charity. In the other side, its monotonousness and grammatical errors also occur here.
