In response to your advertisement in The Employment News of May 20 – 1999, I have the pleasure of offering my services for the post of an assistant editor in your newspaper.

I am a young man of thirty years. I passed my B.A examination in English from Delhi University in first division. Then I obtained a diploma in journalism from the Kolkata University.

I have been working as a sub-editor in The Pioneer - Chandigarh for the past two years and am also a free-lancer for Hindustan Times. I have a good knowledge of general knowledge and a good command of English. I have a vast experience of editing news.
