Dear Sir,

Subject : Application for The Post of Sub-Editor

In response to your advertisement in THE TIMES OF INDIA April 24 - 1999, I have the pleasure of offering my services for the post of a sub-editor in your editorial department.

I am a young man of 28 years having good health. I am a graduate in Hindi (Hons.) from Delhi University with good second division. Thereafter I obtained diploma in journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.

I joined the Amar Ujala - Lucknow as a reporter and worked in that capacity for two years. Then I got the job of a sub-editor in the Jansatta - Delhi edition. I have written a number of articles on current affairs. My special field of interest is the literary section and politics. I have also vast experience in all aspects of the duties of a sub-editor, for example editing news and preparing its copy for sending it to the press.

I wish to join your newspaper and hope you will give me a change to prove my worth.

Yours Faithfully,
