Answer:

Beggars may be deemed a nuisance but considering their situation, it is understandable. They may be who they are today but nobody has the right to judge them. Their lives may be different from us but they don't deserve the treatment they mostly get from people, I myself included. But since the paper asked for the topic "Beggars- A Nuisance", I'll try to write however I can.

Explanation:

BEGGARS- A NUISANCE

Whenever one goes anywhere, especially in Delhi, it is most likely that you will encounter a beggar. They line up almost every roadside, with their small kids in tow and the elder ones selling one thing or the other. They pose a great threat not only to themselves by begging on the roadsides, but also to the ones travelling. For if anything happens, they will both be victims.

Not only in roadsides, but even in homes and street corners, one can always immediately meet a small boy, either rummaging for food in the garbage dump or asking for freebies to whoever passes by. They are just a nuisance that makes people's lives more stressful. There are even instances of people getting angry and fighting with beggars just because they would't leave anyone alone. for they constantly follow us all around. It's just a mess, seeing someone beg.

BEGGAR A NUISANCE

I can't say they are a nuisance because they are doing what they feel they need to do. You can make the active decision to walk past them and ignore them, or give them some change. It is just like a street vendor or performer - ignore, or engage - up to you. There are a lot of them in the downtown areas of lager cities, but that is where more people are so they can get more money to survive. A lot of homeless people are mentally ill and don't understand beyond the need of money to survive. Some beggars are everyday people looking for a quick, tax-free buck. A beggar will generally ask you for spare change, but they don't chase you down and demand money or food. I just see it as someone asking you if you have the time. You can either keep walking as if you didn't hear him/her ask, lie and say you don't have a watch, or tell them the time.
